Smart Management Module (SMM)

The Smart Power Management System by Generac is intended to optimize the performance of a standby generator. Up to 8 individual Smart Management Modules (SMM) can be included in the system. Unlike other load management systems that rely on external control device, the SMM modules are self-aware and function independently. Frequency is the most accurate indicator of generator engine performance, eliminating the need to consider factors like increased ambient temperatures, elevation changes, or generator fuel type. These modules continually monitor the power frequency from Generac's standby generators. If the frequency falls below a certain threshold, the module will automatically implement a power management algorithm to prevent overloading.

The Smart Management Module (SMM) is wire-free, simplifying the installation process as control wires are not required. It works in conjunction with your Generac transfer switch, monitoring each selected circuit and supplying power automatically to where it is needed. Up to eight Smart Management Modules can be installed with a compatible automatic transfer switch to effectively manage power loads. These modules can be assigned a load priority between 1-8, or be set in a lock out only mode for loads that do not need to operate during an outage. This allows for a more cost-effective solution as the required size of the generator can be reduced.

The Smart Management Modules are designed for use with Generac standby generators and transfer switches.
